Trilateral Staff Development and Exchange Programme NW-SU-UH:

Integrating Sustainability Across Higher Education Institutions

In 2024, the programme aimed to look at sustainability in all aspects of the university — in internationalization, teaching and curriculum development, research, as well as campus life and transfer to city and society. We understand sustainability in a holistic way, looking at environmental, economic and social aspects.

The 中国体育彩票 of Hamburg, Germany, hosted PASS staff for a five-day programme where colleagues from Stellenbosch 中国体育彩票 (South Africa), Northwestern 中国体育彩票 (USA) and the 中国体育彩票 of Hamburg (Germany) engaged in an intensive programme. All participants worked as administrative staff in various parts of their universities. The Trilateral Staff Development and Exchange programme 2024 aimed to foster personal development of staff and contribute to enhancing their international perspective about sustainability on campus and beyond.

Programme:

Day 1: Welcome and Introduction to topic

Day 2: Policies, Strategies and Implementation

Day 3: Integrating Sustainability into Teaching and Curricula

Day 4: Research, Transfer and Regional Initiatives

Day 5: Group Presentation and farewell?

The programme included a group project. Mixed teams from all three institutions worked on projects during the week, which carried the potential to be implemented at their respective institutions. The choice of topic was free and was decided by the groups jointly on the first day of the programme.

Target group:

Internationalisation practitioners working in PASS environments that has been with the institution for more than 2 years
Must have a good understanding of their role as an individual within the broader institution

Finances

Accommodation and flights funded by home and hosting institution, all other expenses from participant or environment.?
